The Opera House is an unmissable feature of Manchester’s central Quay Street in the elegant Spinningfields quarter, the city’s thriving business district where luxury fashion brands, restaurants and bars nestle in amongst an array of cultural and entertainment venues.

The Grade II listed Opera House, designed in the Classical style with a 15-bay façade, columns and sculptured stone relief, has a large capacity but an intimate auditorium making it perfect not only for smaller musicals but also dance, drama, comedy and pantomime.

The Opera House has hosted a variety of world premieres before they transfer to the west end shows include : Ghost, Back To The Future, & Juliet, Mrs Doubtfire and many more.

In the 1970s, the theatre underwent a major refurbishment, restoring the auditorium and front of house facilities to their Edwardian splendour and improving backstage facilities.

With its large, well-equipped stage and nearly two thousand seats, the theatre is a must-visit venue for major West End shows such as Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, Les Misérables, The Lion King, Mary Poppins, Wicked and most recently Hamilton.
